21 Weeks and half way there!!!

Babycenter.com has this to say about being 21 weeks: "How your baby's growing: Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well." Things are going great!! I feel good for the most part, some nausea and a few headaches but not as bad as week 10-13. I am still in awe of the movements I can feel and it makes it all more real. Can't wait until Cory can feel her move too! I still can't believe how fast this seems to be going, I am half way there!!! I just can't wait to see her. We had another ultrasound last Monday and as soon as I can I will post pictures - and it was confirmed that she is a she!!!!

19 Weeks and We are having a GIRL!!!

Today I am 19 weeks and the baby is the size of a Mango. We had an ultrasound on Friday 1/9/09 and they were able to tell us the sex of the baby and it looks like we are going to be blessed with a baby girl! I was so convinced I was pregnant with a boy, with all the boy dreams and just that "feeling." We are very excited about our news. People keep asking how Cory is doing, and he is honestly doing fine (for now until she is ready to start dating then that will be a whole new story) and is already calling her by the name he has picked (which isn't a name we have agreed on!). Speaking of naming the baby, this is going to be the hardest decision I think I will ever make. I have names Cory doesn't like and he only has one name on his list but I am not sure what to do about it as we know someone with the name already! What to do, What to do???!!! Tasha, I know you want pictures and I will have Cory take some today and try and post them tonight!

18 Weeks - "Sweet Potato"

This is what the bump.com says about being 18 weeks, the baby is the size of a sweet potato: "Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon." The cool thing is I have been able to feel movements now and then and it is so amazing. When it first happened I was thinking to myself "what was that?" and then realized that it was the baby moving! All I can say is WOW!!!! The best part of this week will be on Friday when we go to the doctor for the BIG ultrasound. Will it be a boy or girl??? There is still time to vote!

16 Weeks

Today is the start of week 16! We have been in NM this weekend trying not to freeze and are now back in AZ! It was a great weekend seeing my mom and sister and showing them my ultrasound dvd (which I will try and post here really soon), they were so excited to share such an awesome thing! Speaking of awesome things, the baby is now able to hear my voice and if you shined a bright light at my belly it would move away from the brightness (I learned these things from thebump.com and babycenter.com)! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year!!

My little Lemon

Week 14 - the baby is the size of a Lemon according to the bump.com:

"Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth."

I had my OB appt on Friday December 5th and she said everything is going great!!! All my blood work was good and the heart rate was were is should be (has always been 158 bpm). My next appt and ultrasound will be January 9, 2009 (and this is when we should find out what we are having - as long as he or she will cooperate!!!). We will keep everyone updated.

Thankful!

I worked yesterday so I didn't have time to post what I am most thankful for. I am thankful for my family, friends, the wonderful job I have and the people I work with (who are also some of my closest friends), oh also the brave kids I get the honor of taking care of when at work. And this year I am so THANKFUL for being pregnant when we didn't think it could happen without the help of fertility drugs (which I never did get the chance to take)!!!! We won't know what the sex of the baby is until about the first week of January and it couldn't come soon enough (especially for Cory). Here is the first real glimpse of our baby (the first ultrasound we had at 8 weeks looked like a tadpole and these look like the real deal)!!
