Cookies and Hot Chocolate with Santa

Tonight was cookies and hot chocolate with Santa at Brooklyn's school. To say the least, she was not a fan of Santa. She screamed even before we got near him and then when sitting on his lap she screamed out "DaaaaDaaaa!!!!" I couldn't help but laugh but feel so bad that I may have traumatized her, every time I show her the picture she shakes her head and looks like she may cry."DaaaaDaaaa!!!"

Winter 2010

It is winter here in AZ, sometimes hard to believe when the weather has been so nice (80 degrees some days). We are enjoying the outdoors and having lots of fun. Christmas is in 14 days, also hard to believe! Happy Holidays everyone!

The Park

Brooklyn love going outside, she can even say the word, so she makes it obvious when she is ready to go outside! So we take her to the park either in the neighborhood or the city park up the street. She has so much fun being outside and when it is time to go she is not a happy camper!

Fall 2010

Ok, I have been really bad about blogging. So here I am again! Here are some pictures of Brooklyn in her Halloween costume (at her school Fall Festival) and at the Pumpkin Patch at Mother Nature's Farm in Gilbert. Brooklyn had a great Halloween weekend, and so did we! Hope everyone had just a great of time.

1 Year Pics

After Brooklyn's haircut we went to Portrait Innovations (we went every 3 months her first year) to have her One Year pictures taken.
She had a great time and loves the camera. The only challenge this time was she wanted to walk EVERYWHERE! And she did!

1st Haircut

Yesterday we went to have Brooklyn's first haircut at SnipIts. She did very well and she even got a prize when she was done. Her hair was getting way too long in the back and was in need of a haircut.
She looks a little nervous in the first picture after they put the cape on her.

A year ago today...

A year ago today Brooklyn was born and changed our entire world! My sweet baby girl is now a sweet little toddler!!! I have such mixed emotions right now, sad that a year has flown by, but so happy to see what the future holds for this little girl of mine. This year has had its ups and downs (more ups thanks to her) but it truly has been the best year of my entire life! She has changed so much in one year and amazes me every day. The first time she rolled over, or ate rice cereal and of course those first steps and everything in between has been awesome. I always knew I would love my child, but it is so indescribable the love a mom has for their babies. Thank you everyone for the love and support you have given to Cory and I this year, but most of all thank you for the love you have given to Brooklyn. Happy 1st Birthday Brooklyn Simone Hauber!!!

Brooklyn's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday we had a birthday party for Brooklyn to celebrate her first birthday. She will be ONE on Weds June 16th, which is so unbelievable! We had such a great time celebrating with our friends and family. Brooklyn had a fun time as well. It was so good to have my mom and sister come in for the party/celebration! It really meant the world to me! The theme for Brooklyn's party was pink and zebra. It started with the invitations from Etsy seller Mommiesink and the dress I also bought from Etsy seller CharmingNecessities (Etsy is my new favorite website to shop). My great friend Tracy helped me create Brooklyn's amazing birthday cake. I even put my crafty skills to the test to make the birthday banners (instead of buying them off of Etsy - which I almost did). Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us yesterday.

Summer 2010

Summer is here and Brooklyn so far is loving every bit of it. Soon the temperatures will be 110+, but thank goodness for the pool, splash pads and anything else to do with water. Friday we met our friends Lesley, Ethan and Charlie at a splash pad in Gilbert. The time was perfect as the kids had the pad to themselves up until we were about to leave. Us mom's had our coffee and watched as the little one's had LOTS of fun! Looking forward to many more days like Friday!

11 Months

Oh my goodness, one month from today my baby will be turning one. Today Brooklyn is 11 months. She is doing such big girl things these days. She loves walking and sometimes gets going so fast she is pretty much running. She is talking more and more and drinks mostly from her sippy cup instead of a bottle. She also found a new sound she loves to scream, especially when she sees her daddy. They go back and forth screaming (doesn't sound good saying they are screaming at each other, but is is the funniest thing ever - you just have to hear it). For the next 5 weeks (thanks to Grandma Sheila - Cory's mom) we are going to Gymboree Play and Music every Friday. Brooklyn has SO much fun when she is there, I am looking forward to Fridays a lot more than I ever have!

We now have to place the sticker on her back or she takes it off.

10 Months

Today Brooklyn is 10 months old. She is getting to the point where she knows there is a sticker on her belly/chest and it is a game of trying to take a picture before she takes the sticker off. Most of the time she wins!

Here she is looking at the sticker:
(She is 10 months, but her outfit today was 3-6 months)

Here she is in a 6-9 month onsie and it doesn't fit:The sticker comes off... Brooklyn wins!

Thanks to pickysticky.com, they have made capturing Brooklyn's life in pictures so much fun every month!

First Steps

Brooklyn took her first unassisted steps this evening (without the help of the couch or anything/anyone else). I was at work when Cory called to tell me the news. I have mixed emotions when I miss seeing her do things for the first time, but am also excited that at least Cory was there to see her and she is doing such "big girl" things. When I got home she did it again! Here are some pictures of her walking towards Cory and I. She takes a few steps and then falls down. She gets so happy when we praise her, she wants to do it again. If you are asking what is up with the blue pajamas, Cory was tired of all the pink and purple so he went to the boy section and bought her some blue pj's. She is still so cute in them.

1st Easter

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I took Brooklyn to my work to see the Build-A-Bear Easter Bunny. I wasn't sure how she would react, I had a feeling she wouldn't be impressed, but didn't think she would get so upset. When the bunny first came up to her she touched the hand (paw) and when it made a sudden move, it was over and the crying and shaking began. The rest of the day was wonderful and exciting. We took a walk outside since it was such a beautiful day and after Brooklyn's afternoon nap we experienced a small earthquake (Daddy and Brooklyn's first).

9 month pictures

Today we went and had Brooklyn's 9 month pictures taken at Portrait Innovations. She was slow to warm up (still nervous around men and a guy took the pics) but once she did she had so much fun! The next time we go it will be for her 1 year pictures. Only 75 more days to go (and I hope they go slow since I am not ready for my baby to be one!). They took close to 100 picture so here are just a few of my favorites.

Here is Brooklyn trying to eat the flower we were using to make her smile and laugh. The last 291 days have been the most AMAZING with this sweet baby girl I have been so blessed with.
